How does it work?

TrakKING actively protects your Bike against illegal movement using GPS geo fence technology along with latest technology movement detection hidden within the Bike.

Upon Illegal movement detection TrakKING will discretely notify our international control centre of a possible theft.

Fully trained 24hr TrakKING monitoring staff will contact you with Bike movement details in order to confirm a theft in line with current Police legislation and procedures. TrakKING will continue to track any alarmed Bike until recovery or false alarm has been confirmed.

Once theft has been confirmed and a crime reference number has been obtained from the Police, TrakKING operatives will liaise with the Police in order to recover the Bike.

Upon recovery, the TrakKING operator can arrange for the return of the Bike to the customers desired location. *Trakking is not liable for any cost incurred for recovery.

What is Thatcham?

Thatcham's pioneering work in this field, in collaboration with Bike and security equipment manufacturers, together with the police has brought about a major reduction in UK Bike crime. The Thatcham security testing regime is considered to be one of the most rigorous in the world and acts as a model for crime prevention efforts internationally.

During the early 1990s, the news was filled with stories of joy-riders stealing cars and the subsequent damage and suffering they were causing. In 1992, the British insurance industry tasked Thatcham with improving Bike security.

Thatcham engineers continuously analyse theft methods and new theft techniques used to break into or steal Bikes. This enables them to update the Security Criteria to combat new theft techniques. they use this information to keep Bike manufacturers and security manufacturers updated on new attack methods, enabling them to improve on potential weak points in a Bike's security design.

TrakKING has been subjected to the rigorous Thatcham test requirements to meet there TQA level in Bike tracking system approval. This will cater for any insurance company TQA tracking system requirement.

How accurate is TrakKING

TrakKING is able to provide, speed, direction, ignition state, battery condition and location details to the Police control room in the event of a theft. Subject to environmental variables, TrakKING is accurate to within 10 metres.

This information is gained using the very latest in UK designed and manufactured electronics along with the already proven GPS and GSM technologies.

All of this along with Thatcham approval to the highest standard ensures the best accuracy currently available through such technology.

What is GPS and GSM?

  • These are the two communication methods used to locate a stolen Bike with TrakKING and relay the following details back to our 24hr control centre and subsequently the Police authority.
    • Speed
    • Direction
    • Location
  • GPS – Global Positioning System operated by satellites which will enable the positioning direction and speed of the Bike. The same infrastructure as used to support Satellite Navigational devices.
  • GSM – Global System Mobile Communications operated across the globe to support mobile communication devices and cellular mobile phone networks. This is used to communicate the above GPS details back to the TrakKING 24hr Control centre.
  • The above methods will supply TrakKING and subsequently the Police with an accuracy location of less than 500 metres depending on local terrain etc.
