Scorpion's Answer to new Keyless Car Crime!

Insurers are refusing to pay out after a spate of thefts of luxury cars. Manufacturers are denying a security flaw and drivers are left out of pocket. The new cutting edge technology of keyless locks makes vehicles a sitting duck for a new type of criminal with high tech gadgets enabling them to steal them in as little as three minutes. The security flaw allows thieves to create cloned keys for any vehicle with a keyless entry system and start button. Since this has come to light insurance companies are re-assessing the criteria by which they calculate insurance groups. Police in conjunction with Thatcham (a company that works with insurers and car makers) concluded that there was no simple solution to the problem. It can take the thieves less than three minutes to smash the window and clone the key from the vehicles on board control unit. The equipment is available on line and in car repair shops! There has been a large rise in the theft of luxury cars. In 2012 in London 39% of cars stolen were taken without the owner’s car keys being present.
